Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity:  Girls on the Run at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC Presents Annual 5K Race

WHO: The 5K is open to all, including males, regardless of age. Friends and family members can share in the day to help motivate, inspire and encourage girls to believe in themselves and accomplish their goals.

WHAT: Sixth annual Wondergirl 5K race (formerly the Girls on the Run 5K)

Race day registration is $20. Those who sign up by Friday, May 16 receive registration discounts. Online registration is available at www.active.com. Select “Find an Event” and enter “Wondergirl 5K”

WHEN: 9 a.m., Sunday, May 18

WHERE: Sandcastle Waterpark, 1000 Sandcastle Drive, Homestead, Pa.

WHY: The Wondergirl 5K series, one of the largest race series in the country, spreads the mission of self-respect and healthy living. The run will highlight the participants of the Girls on the Run program at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC and is designed to build a sense of community support and celebrate the spirit of girls, women and those who love them.
