Eric Rodriguez, M.D., is associate professor of medicine in the division of geriatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
He is also a physician in the University of Pittsburgh Institute on Aging and medical director of the Benedum Geriatric Center at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Rodriguez has published numerous articles in professional journals on various topics related to the elderly including dementia, the use of lipid-lowering drugs in older adults with and without dementia, the effects of age and causal attribution to aging on health-related behaviors associated with urinary incontinence in older women, winter danger from hypothermia, guidelines for the identification and prevention of adverse drug reactions in the elderly, optimizing medication management in older adults.
He belongs to numerous professional societies including American Geriatric Society, the Gerontological Society of America, and the Association of Directors of Academic Geriatric Medicine Programs.
Dr. Rodriguez received his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and did his residency training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH, and George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
