Terence Starz, M.D.


Terence Starz, M.D. is a clinical professor of medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and is in clinical practice in the Western Pennsylvania Area.

In addition, Dr. Starz is involved in clinical research projects including osteoarthritis of the knee outcome and classification studies, establishment of low back pain management guidelines, classification and intervention studies in fibromyalgia, and health economic studies regarding health care utilization in various musculoskeletal disorders with the UPMC Health Plan.

Dr. Starz serves as medical director of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and is the Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at the Shadyside Campus of UPMC Presbyterian. He is chairman of the Musculoskeletal Subcommittee of the UPMC Health Plan and chairman of the Arthritis Operations Committee of the UPMC Arthritis Center.
