Department of Radiology

Pediatric Radiology

One of the largest pediatric radiology services in the nation, the pediatric division is based out of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Children’s Hospital has consistently appeared near the top in U.S. News & World Report as well as Child magazine’s pediatric hospital rankings. The division consists of highly-skilled fellowship trained pediatric radiologists who provide specialized imaging and diagnostic interpretation service, and offer cutting-edge interventional procedures.

Imaging equipment at the current hospital site recently was updated, but the division will soon relocate to a new space – a $473 million dollar, 762,000-square-foot facility located in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh that will boast a state-of-the-art radiology department. The campus, which will include one of the world’s only green pediatric hospitals, will feature private rooms, a dramatic healing garden, and research tower. In addition to services at Children’s Hospital, division faculty also cover the neonates at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC and provide general radiology services at Children’s Hospital’s north, east, and south satellite locations.
