Urgent Care
Urgent care services at UPMC Mercy South Side Outpatient Center provide patients with easy, convenient access to physician services without an appointment from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. Conditions treated include:
- sore throat
- minor cuts
- sprained joints
- earaches
- colds and flu
- minor broken bones, like fingers, toes, and noses
Unlike many urgent care centers, our urgent care services are staffed by family medicine physicians. Appointments are not necessary to be seen for an urgent condition. The center provides easy access to x-rays, sutures, blood work, and also will perform physical examinations. When conditions require follow-up, patients can return for a visit with a family medicine physician.
Conditions such as chest pain, shortness of breath, severe or uncontrollable bleeding, symptoms of stroke, or major trauma require the services of an emergency department. For such emergencies, UPMC Mercy offers access to the area's only combined Level 1 trauma center and burn center, as well as other specialized emergency services.
