PSB Nursing School Aptitude Examination: RN
The first step in the admission process is to register for the Psychological Services Bureau, Inc. Nursing School Aptitude Examination (RN). This exam is offered at UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing.
The exam consists of the following subject areas:
- Math
- Reading Comprehension
- Vocabulary
- Natural Science
To be considered for admission the applicant must have a composite (total) percentile score of 240 with no single subject area lower than the 60th percentile. Re-testing will be permitted only if the candidate documents evidence of remediation (proof of successful completion of a college course).
Complete a registration form (PDF) and mail it, along with your money order in the amount of $35 made payable to UPMC Shadyside, to:

Please note that each test date has a postmark requirement. Registrations received after the stated postmarks will not be processed.
Registrations will not be accepted via telephone, fax, or e-mail.
Failure to appear for the exam will result in the forfeiture of the $35 testing fee.
Test scores are considered confidential and will not be released over the telephone. Your test scores will be mailed to you as soon as they become available.
