Preparing for a Procedure
There are some important things you need to do to prepare for your visit.
You should plan to come between 15 and 30 minutes before your appointment’s scheduled time. Be sure that you have gotten prior approval from your health insurance company, if necessary. You may be responsible for getting pre-approval for certain tests and procedures. Check with your insurance company to see what is required of you.
Items to bring:
- a list of all medications; do not bring your medications.
- a list of your allergies
- insurance card and insurance information
- a signed percription from your physician for the proceedure, if applicable
Items to leave at home:
- medications you are taking; bring only a list of the medications
- valuables
- makeup and other cosmetics
Additional preparations may be necessary based on your procedure or test. Please ask when making an appointment what specific instructions you should follow or discuss any questions that you may have with your doctor.
