Women’s Health
As a nationally recognized leader in women’s health, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC provides advanced care for the full range of women’s health issues at all stages of life. Through the expertise of our researchers and board-certified physicians, we combine breadth of expertise with a traditional focus on gynecologic and obstetric services. These services are provided at our hospital, Outpatient Clinic, regional Womancare Centers, and Womancare Associates practices.
GENERAL OB/GYNECOLOGICAL SERVICES
Physicians at Magee-Womens Hospital and Womancare Associates treat and provide women’s health services at more than 20 locations in our region. Some common gynecological services include:
- Yearly Pap smears and pelvic exams
- Family planning
- Sexually transmitted disease treatment and prevention
- HPV vaccinations
- Uro-gynecology
- Pregnancy care
For nearly a century, women have depended on the obstetric services at Magee. Each year, nearly 10,000 babies are born at the hospital. The Womancare Birth Center features labor, delivery, and recovery rooms and a postpartum unit that offer the latest technologies integrated into comfortable and intimate areas. A Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit treats more than 1,500 seriously or critically ill babies each year.
CANCER CARE JUST FOR WOMEN
The Magee-Womens Breast Cancer Program of UPMC Cancer Centers is for women at high risk and women who already have breast cancer. The Gynecologic Cancer Program provides early cancer detection and individualized intervention.
