Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC Continues to Make The U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll

UPMC is once again western Pennsylvania's only medical center on the annual U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll of America's Best Hospitals. UPMC is ranked 12th overall, up from last year's 13th place. UPMC is one of only 17 hospitals nationwide that made the Honor Roll of the "nation's best" in the 2011 survey. Magee was ranked 7th overall in gynecology care.

Magee also ranked 42nd in orthopaedics and 45th in women's cancer care, and 7th in gynecology care, a huge jump from where the hospital was 6 years ago when it ranked 19th.

UPMC was ranked in 15 of 16 adult specialty areas, including nine specialties for which UPMC is in the top 10. UPMC improved its ranking in 10 specialties, more than in any other year to date. Only 140 of the 4,825 nationally eligible hospitals were nationally ranked in any specialty area. This year marks UPMC's 12th appearance on the list.
