UPMC Horizon bariatric surgeon now seeing patients in Franklin
Franklin, PA - Christopher J. Myers, MD, minimally invasive bariatric and general surgeon with the UPMC Horizon Bariatric Surgery Center, now sees patients at UPMC-Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Associates in Franklin, Pa.
Dr. Myers is a graduate of the University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland. He completed surgical residencies at the Cleveland Clinic, the Mayo Clinic, and UPMC Mercy, and recently completed a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C. During his fellowship, he co-authored two book chapters, several abstracts, and manuscripts dealing with bariatric surgery. Some of his research activities have been presented at national bariatric and minimally invasive surgery conferences.
Dr. Myers is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He performs minimally invasive bariatric and general surgery at UPMC Horizon.
This is the second satellite office for the Bariatric Center to open in recent months; Dr. Myers also began seeing patients at the Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon in November. The main office is located at Horizon Surgical Associates-UPMC, 428 S. Main St., Greenville, where Dr. Myers sees patients in association with James J. Kolenich, MD, and Etwar McBean, MD.
