Gastroenterologist joins UPMC Digestive Disorders Center
GREEENVILLE, December 2, 2011– Kirk Works, MD, gastroenterologist, is now affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition and the UPMC Digestive Disorders Center.
Dr. Works has been a member of UPMC Horizon’s medical staff since 1990. He earned his medical degree from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb., where he also completed an internal medicine residency. He completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Works is certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
As part of the UPMC Digestive Disorders Center, Dr. Works will work closely with University of Pittsburgh gastroenterologists Adam Slivka, MD, PhD, Kapil Chopra, MD, Kevin McGrath, MD, and Jason Swoger, MD, MPH, who began seeing patients at UPMC Horizon in 2009. As a group, the physicians specialize in digestive disorders including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, pancreatic and biliary disorders, esophageal diseases, and gastrointestinal cancer.
