Center for Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Medicine
At the UPMC Horizon Center for Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Medicine, our goal is to provide a patient-centered focus to those suffering from chronic or difficult to heal wounds. Our multidisciplinary approach to wound treatment combines the expertise of internal medicine and infectious disease specialists, vascular surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, and podiatrists.
Services offered
Advanced Outpatient Wound Therapy
The Center for Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Medicine offers treatment for any type of chronic or non-healing wound, including:
- venous ulcers
- arterial ulcers
- diabetic foot ulcers
- non-healing surgical wounds
- burns
- pressure ulcerations
Inpatient Consultations
Inpatient consultations are offered at both the Shenango Valley and Greenville campuses.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the use of oxygen at a
level higher than atmospheric pressure, is offered at
our outpatient clinic at the Park Medical Building near
UPMC Horizon’s Shenango Valley campus. Hyperbaric
oxygen therapy may be used to treat complex nonhealing
wounds, including but not limited to:
- radiation burns
- chronic osteomyelitis
- osteoradio necrosis
- compartment syndrome
