UPMC Horizon is proud to partner with nationally-renowned Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in our commitment to provide comprehensive maternity and infant care to mothers and their babies. At the Birth Place of UPMC Horizon, our nurses have received advanced education at Magee-Womens Hospital to ensure that mothers and their newborn babies are in the hands of world-class experts.
Located on the second floor of our Shenango Valley hospital campus, The Womancare Birth Place offers advanced maternity care in a comfortable, home-like setting. The recent advent of wireless fetal monitoring allows our laboring patients more freedom to move around and seek comfort measures such as hydrotherapy.
The Womancare Center offers numerous classes for expectant families and new parents. If you choose to breastfeed, the Womancare Center in Hermitage has a Lactation Center staffed by a knowledgeable lactation consultant.
Lactation Center
Located at the Womancare Center in Hermitage, the Lactation Center is staffed by knowledgeable lactation consultants who are available to answer your questions about breastfeeding. Nursing supplies such as bras, pillows, and pumps are available for purchase at the Lactation Center. Gift registry is also available.
