Laboratory Screening Programs
Multiphasic laboratory screening programs are held several times each year throughout the community. Each laboratory screening is offered at an affordable price and is sponsored by a local civic organization. The remaining blood screening program schedule for 2012 is:

Alum Bank Fire Hall, New Paris, PA
Cost is $25 for blood screening and $3 for urinalysis. The screening is a series of 28 tests, and includes cholesterol and triglycerides. Patients must fast for 12 hours and consume no alcohol for 24 hours prior to screening. For an additional $3, test results can be sent to the patient.
Diabetes Self-Management Program
This series of educational programs is aimed at providing instruction and information that will enable individuals with diabetes to manage their condition independently and confidently. Participants will be required to attend pre- and post-class assessments.
The target audience for the Diabetes Self-Management Program are those newly-diagnosed and those with uncontrolled diabetes. Program topics will cover such issues as:
- meal planning
- monitoring diabetes
- medications
- exercise
Pre-registration for the program is required.
