Michael Horowitz, M.D., is professor of neurosurgery and radiology in the department of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, chief of neurosurgery at UPMC Presbyterian and co-director of UPMC’s Center for Endovascular Therapy.
A board-certified neurosurgeon and neurointerventional radiologist, Dr. Horowitz earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester.
Following a neurosurgical residency at the University of Pittsburgh and an interventional neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, he was assistant professor of neurosurgery and radiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Horowitz is an active participant in the UPP Department of Neurological Surgery’s Cranial Nerve Disorders Center where he functions as academic director. His specialized areas of interest include endovascular surgery, vascular surgery, microvascular decompression, tumors and skull based surgery.
