Vision substitution researcher Amy Nau, O.D., assistant professor, Department of Ophthalmology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and director, Contact Lens and Low Vision Services, UPMC Eye Center
WHAT: “Strength through Partnership: How the University of Pittsburgh is Serving Our Military and Beyond” is a lecture series presented by the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association and Alumni Relations for the Pitt Schools of the Health Sciences.
WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9
WHERE: Soldiers & Sailors Grand Ballroom, University of Pittsburgh, 4141 Fifth Ave., Oakland.
WHY: Attendees will hear from two Pitt researchers who will discuss how their work is helping to serve veterans and current members of the military.
Dr. Lephart will explain his involvement with the Department of Defense’s injury prevention and human performance research programs.
Dr. Nau will present “Seeing Without Eyes: Sensory Substitution for the Blind.”
