For Palliative and Supportive Care Professionals and Students

The UPMC Palliative and Supportive Institute is a multidisciplinary group of caregivers and professionals who strive to improve their patients' quality of life by managing pain, fear, anxiety, and other symptoms of serious illness.

In outpatient clinics, nursing facilities, hospitals, and other locations, we coordinate and provide support that can make life more comfortable for patients and their families, including:

  • Physical
  • Psychological
  • Spiritual
  • Social support

Our dedicated professionals work with other groups to care for the needs of patients who are recovering from an injury or dealing with a serious or life threatening illness. In each case, treatment and care plans are carefully designed to help each patient meet his or her goals.

For more information about the services we provide, please visit the patient-oriented Services section of our site.
