All UPMC emergency departments are staffed by full-time emergency medicine specialists, 24 hours a day. Emergency medicine doctors use advanced laboratory and imaging technology to diagnose and treat your medical emergency. They also work with your doctor and other specialists to get you the best possible care.
For patients experiencing life-threatening trauma, heart attack, or stroke, our specially trained experts provide emergency treatments and access to a wide continuum of care.
Urgent Care
For non-life-threatening emergencies, you may go to one of our “walk-in” Urgent Care locations. These are conveniently open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. UPMC Urgent Care centers are staffed by board-certified physicians and provide x-ray and lab services on site. No appointment is needed.
