UPMC Monroeville Imaging Center Opens

Residents of Pittsburgh's eastern suburbs now have access to state-of-the art imaging services in an attractive and convenient location, above Monroeville Mall on Oxford Drive. UPMC Imaging Services’ newest site, UPMC Monroeville Imaging Center, began seeing patients in June 2006.

The new center is fully equipped with the latest imaging technology, including the area’s first and only fixed PET scanner, available full time at this location. Other services include 16-slice CT, digital x-ray, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, and general and vascular ultrasound.

The center also houses a Siemens MAGNETOM Espree MRI scanner, with a wider bore, or opening, allowing for greater comfort, while providing high-quality images. The scanner can accommodate larger patients or those with claustrophobia.

UPMC Monroeville Imaging Center is equipped with Stentor digital imaging technology, which replaces traditional film with high-quality digital images that can be viewed on a computer screen and can be accessed by any UPMC hospital or facility any time of the day or night.

The center is conveniently located by Monroeville Mall and features ample free parking; spacious and comfortable waiting areas with access to wireless Internet; and same-day, evening, and weekend hours.
