Neuroendovascular Surgery
The Minimally Invasive endoNeurosurgical Center has one of the country’s leading neuroendovascular surgery programs. Directed
by neurosurgeon Michael Horowitz, MD, and stroke neurologist Tudor Jovin, MD, this multidisciplinary program comprises neurologists, neurosurgeons, cardiologists, and radiologists.
Neuroendovascular surgery (also called interventional neuroradiology) is a subspecialty within the fields of radiology and neurosurgery that has as its goal the management and treatment of complex neurologic lesions using minimally invasive techniques. By threading small catheters through arteries and veins, the interventionist is able to treat lesions from within rather than from without. The advantage of such therapy is the less invasive approach to the lesion that often translates into shorter recovery times and more effective therapy.
MINC’s accomplished surgeons are dedicated to providing optimal treatments and care. They actively participate in research, medical studies, and numerous industry-supported trials of promising new devices and treatments.
