The Epilepsy Center provides state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment services to adults and children with uncontrolled seizures. The department’s active clinical research program has contributed to the introduction of seven new anti-epileptic drugs over the past decade.

The Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis division includes comprehensive care to meet the needs of patients with multiple sclerosis at all levels of disease severity. Our physicians are actively involved in studying medications for the management and treatment of multiple sclerosis symptoms.

The Neuromuscular Disease Center specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of neuromuscular disorders. Outpatient care includes specialty clinics for diseases such as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), muscular dystrophy, as well as Botox® injections for dystonia and spasticity.

The UPMC Stroke Institute’s multidisciplinary team uses advanced therapies to treat stroke and help patients recover physical and cognitive function. Our stroke experts treat more than 1,000 patients each year and provide consultation for hundreds of others through the UPMC Stroke Telemedicine Program.
