Department of Otolaryngology - Center for Balance Disorders

About Us

Balance disorders are a common problem with potentially debilitating effects. Because many different conditions can cause a balance disorder, in order to prescribe the best treatment, physicians must first determine the cause. An accurate diagnosis will allow the best treatment to be determined. The Center for Balance Disorders has a comprehensive testing facility and a team of experts to help identify and overcome your balance problem.

Treatment of Balance Disorders

Since there are many different causes of a balance disorder, there are many different treatments. Treatments may include a change in diet, medication, physical therapy, or, infrequently, surgery. Following your assessment, your doctor will advise which therapy is most appropriate and may wish to see you again to see if the treatment helped. A letter will be sent to your primary care physician, referring physician, and any other professional whom you designate.
