Skilled Nursing
Our skilled nursing facilities in Cranberry, Franklin, Penn Hills, Squirrel Hill, and Lawrenceville offer skilled care that is as personalized as it is professional. Our skilled nursing residences are about more than long-term care: They bridge the gap between hospital and home by providing care for people who are recovering from surgery or other medical treatments. Residents receive 24-hour nursing services, assistance with activities of daily living, and care tailored to their personal needs and focused on rehabilitation and restoring their independence. Special programs include wound care and respite care.
Each community is staffed by licensed professionals, including registered nurses and physical, speech, and occupational therapists. A UPMC geriatrician and other medical staff are on call at all times. Specialty medical services along with dental, podiatry, and vision care are available at each residence.
Skilled nursing residents actively participate in therapeutic recreational activities every day, including escorted trips outdoors to enjoy the beautifully landscaped campus and sitting areas. An activities coordinator provides a full calendar of social, spiritual, and recreational activities. Residents receive nutritionally balanced meals and therapeutic diets served fresh daily in the dining room or brought to their room. Family and friends always are welcome to visit, and support services are provided for residents’ families. Every skilled nursing facility of UPMC Senior Communities is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and certified by Medicare.
