Canterbury Place offers a continuum of care, on either a temporary or permanent basis, to help residents maintain their independence and dignity in a secure, comfortable, and welcoming home that best suits their needs.
With many options for care, Canterbury Place helps its assisted living residents remain independent as long as possible. Assisted living offers the best of both worlds for seniors who need ongoing help with personal care and typical daily activities yet who wish to retain their independence to the fullest extent that they can. With a little support, Canterbury Place residents stay active, healthy, and independent in exceptional, home-like surroundings for many years. Residents enjoy the freedom and privacy of apartment living while receiving help with daily activities, such as taking medications, bathing, and managing general hygiene. Before moving in, each resident is evaluated to determine the level of assistance needed. Our nursing staff is on duty 24 hours daily to assist with problems or emergencies. To help support our residents, Canterbury Place staff work cooperatively with UPMC Home Care.
Indoor and outdoor recreation areas, a large-screen TV, a fireside lounge, and a schedule of daily activities provide residents with an enjoyable setting that promotes independence and meets their needs. Residents dine in our sixth floor skyline dining room that offers a spectacular view of downtown Pittsburgh. Many enjoy quiet time in the tranquil surroundings of our solarium. Canterbury Place offers a host of gathering places where residents can enjoy new friendships and visit with family.
Canterbury Place has a dedicated chaplain to provide for the spiritual needs of our residents and their families. Our chapel is available for all denominations and offer regular services for the Christian and Jewish faiths.
