About Poster Abstract Submissions

  • A poster session is a graphic presentation of authors' reports.
  • The authors illustrate his or her findings by displaying graphs, photos, diagrams and a small amount of text on the poster boards.
  • The authors will then hold discussions with the registrants who are circulating among the poster boards. Many authors find it helpful to present a brief introduction to answer the obvious questions and allow the remainder of the time for more in-depth discussions.
  • The author must remain by his or her poster board for the duration of the session. If the author has handouts to distribute, he or she should bring approximately 75 copies that highlight the authors’ names and contact information.
  • No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations.
  • Abstract submissions will be accepted
Thursday, February 16  through 5 p.m. on Friday, March 9.

There are two categories of poster abstract submissions:

  • Research Poster Abstract
Research poster abstracts may focus on any aspect of aging. The research may be original or replicated studies.
  • Quality Improvement Poster Abstract
A Quality Improvement poster abstract may be the result of an organizational process that when applied to the field of aging achieves a desired outcome or meets or exceeds a benchmark for a standard of geriatric practice.

At this time poster abstract submissions are no longer being received. For questions, please contact Jennifer Bissell at bissell@pitt.edu.
