UPMC Adult Sickle Cell Disease Program

The UPMC Adult Sickle Cell Disease Program provides ongoing medical and psychosocial care for individuals age 21 and older that have been diagnosed with sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies such as thalassemia.

We offer a multidisciplinary approach to care, with our team of clinicians and researchers working together to provide the latest in diagnostic and treatment options for patients with sickle cell disease.

The UPMC Adult Sickle Cell Disease Program is one of 14 recognized centers in Pennsylvania, providing the community with convenient access to hemoglobin electrophoresis testing, periodic medical follow-up, and ongoing medical management, including preventive therapy and support services.
