   The UPMC Liver Transplant Program at the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute is one of the oldest and largest programs in the United States. Since its inception in 1981, more than 7,000 patients have received liver transplants.

   Because of our liver transplant team's expertise in managing the most complex cases, our program receives referrals from transplant centers, hospitals, and physicians around the world.
3. Comprehensive Liver Care
   Our Comprehensive Liver Center offers treatment options for patients with all forms of liver disease, including those who may not be eligible for transplantation.
