Reconstructive Transplantation

Traditional organ transplantation often is life-saving. For patients who undergo reconstructive transplantation, it is said to be “life-giving.”

Reconstructing limbs, faces, and other parts of the human body can restore a person’s functionality, ability — and often — their hope. Hope that they can live a more normal, productive, and fulfilling life.

At UPMC’s Reconstructive Transplantation Program, restoring that hope is our charge for each patient we treat.

And, we bring a wealth of clinical knowledge, historical expertise in transplant medicine, and cutting-edge research to the problems of disability, deformity, and disfigurement.
