Insurance Coverage
Many insurance plans cover bariatric surgery.
Review your insurance policy to see:
- if weight loss surgery is a covered service
- how much you may be expected to pay yourself
- if you must meet any additional requirements for coverage
Insurance companies usually
require at least six to 12 consecutive months of
documented diet history. Many also require nutrition and psychiatric consultations.
