COPE Philosophy, Mission, and History
The COPE (Center for Overcoming Problem Eating) program of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC is committed to providing state-of-the-art eating disorder treatment, education, and research.
For more than 30 years, COPE has developed and provided evidence-informed treatment for individuals with anorexia and bulimia nervosa.
Today, COPE offers a continuum of assessment and treatment services, including inpatient, outpatient, and intermediate levels of care to meet the needs of individuals at any stage of an eating disorder.
COPE continues its commitment to education and research by training students from various health care disciplines and conducting National Institute of Mental Health-funded research to improve our understanding and treatment of eating disorders.
