More than 70 million Americans are affected by digestive disorders. For some people, digestive disorders cause discomfort, embarrassment, and a loss of work time. For others, these disorders can be extremely serious, ruining their quality of life. They can even be life-threatening.

UPMC's Digestive Disorders Center provides "one-stop" access to highly-skilled specialists in diseases of the esophagus, stomach, intestine, liver, gall bladder, bile ducts and pancreas, as well as problems of nutrition and obesity.

UPMC's digestive experts work as a team, putting together the skills of different specialists to craft an individualized course of treatment that can restore a patient's quality of life and even save lives. They also are active researchers, developing new and better ways to diagnose, treat, and understand digestive disorders.
