Inpatient Rehabilitation
The UPMC Institute for Rehabilitation and Research is a 76-bed Center of Excellence offering patients four individualized units focused on spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, and general rehabilitation.
Unlike stand-alone rehabilitation facilities, the UPMC IRR is located within UPMC Mercy, an acute are facility. This distinction means that the medical services patients may need during the course of rehabilitation are readily available. Physicians, specialists, laboratory services, pharmacy, and imaging technology can be found on-site, eliminating the need to transport patients to other facilities for routine matters or emergency situations.

Physician Services
Physician services through the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are available in several locations throughout the area.

Outpatient Therapy Services
The Centers for Rehab Services has more than 40 locations in western Pennsylvania.
