Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU)

Location: UPMC Presbyterian
Number of beds: 22

The CTICU delivers care to adult cardiothoracic, heart/lung transplantation, and vascular patients. This ICU specializes in the support of patients with invasive monitoring, ventilatory support, pharmacologic interventions, nutritional therapy, and infectious disease management. 

The CTICU team provides care for patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and ventricular assist devices (VAD). This CCM team also provides hemodynamic intervention in post-operative vascular surgical patients.
