Visiting a Patient at UPMC Bedford Memorial
UPMC Bedford Memorial is a 59-bed acute-care community hospital that serves the residents of Bedford County. If you are planning to visit a patient who has been admitted to UPMC Bedford Memorial, use the information below to plan your visit.
Visiting Hours
Visiting hours at UPMC Bedford Memorial are from 1 to 8:30 p.m. each day, with the following exceptions:

Intensive Care Unit
Visiting hours are restricted to family and divided into three sessions throughout the day. Visits are limited to 10 minutes per visit.
Visiting Hours:
10 a.m. to noon
2 to 4 p.m.
6 to 8 p.m.

Obstetrics
Two visiting hour sessions are held:
2 to 4 p.m.
7 to 8:30 p.m.
Visits from children are limited to siblings. In order to provide our patients with the most therapeutic environment possible, patients should have no more than two visitors at a time.
Gift Shop
A gift shop and snack bar, located on the first floor of UPMC Bedford Memorial, is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Boyd's Bears, jewelry, accessories, and other gift items are available for purchase in the gift shop. The snack bar features daily specials. Proceeds from the shop and snack bar, which are managed by the UPMC Bedford Memorial Auxiliary, benefit the auxiliary's medical equipment fund.

UPMC Bedford Memorial offers friends and family members the opportunity to send their loved one an e-card while he or she is a patient. Choose from a selection of get well, birthday, new baby, and holiday greetings. To take advantage of this free service, visit the UPMC E-Card website.
Visitors and patients may park for free in designated parking areas on the UPMC Bedford Memorial campus.

From the West (Pittsburgh Area)
Take I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) East to Exit 146 (Bedford Interchange). Turn left onto Route 220 North to I-99 South to Everett Exit (Route 30). Merge onto Route 30 East. Continue on Route 30 East, then follow the directional signs to the hospital exit. Visitor parking is available in the hospital’s rear parking lot. Or follow Hospital Drive around to the front of the hospital where there is a large parking lot.
From the East (Philadelphia Area)
Take I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) West to Exit 161 (Breezewood Interchange). Merge onto Route 30 West. Continue on Route 30 West, then follow the directional signs to the hospital exit. Visitor parking is available in the hospital’s rear parking lot. Or follow Hospital Drive around to the front of the hospital where there is a large parking lot.
From the North (Altoona Area)
Take I-99 South to Everett Exit (Route 30). Merge onto Business Route 30 East. Continue on Route 30 East, then follow the directional signs to the hospital exit. Visitor parking is available in the hospital’s rear parking lot. Or follow Hospital Drive around to the front of the hospital where there is a large parking lot.
From the South (Baltimore/Washington D.C. Area)
Take I-70 West to Breezewood. Turn left onto Route 30 West. Continue on Route 30 West, then follow the directional signs to the hospital exit. Visitor parking is available in the hospital’s rear parking lot. Or follow Hospital Drive around to the front of the hospital where there is a large parking lot. From the South (Cumberland, MD Area)Take 220 North to Everett Exit (Route 30). Merge onto Route 30 East. Continue on Route 30 East, then follow the directional signs to the hospital exit.
