About the Center for Engagement and Inclusion

From Bolted-On to Built-In

The Center for Engagement and Inclusion (CFEI) was launched in 2008. Its mission—to ensure dignity and respect—is more than just a UPMC value. We are focused on making inclusion, dignity, respect, and cultural awareness core components of the employee, health plan member, patient, and community experience. These four experiences make up the UPMC experience.

The CFEI is also a resource for initiatives that support our areas of commitment. By leveraging our internal capabilities, and partnering with UPMC's leaders, employees, councils, and community partners, we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of all the people UPMC employs and serves. We're all in this together.

Our Four Goals

To guide our inclusion strategies and initiatives, we focus on four established goals.
