The Asian Centre for Liver Diseases & Transplantation

In the fall of 2012, the Asian Centre for Liver Diseases & Transplantation (ACLDT) in Singapore — one of Asia’s foremost liver centers — joined with UPMC to develop a Comprehensive Transplant Centre to treat liver, kidney, and bone marrow diseases.

To ensure seamless care for patients with liver diseases, UPMC will provide the Asian American Medical Group Inc. (AAMG) — a private subsidiary of ACLDT — advanced medical expertise and technologies, including:

  • Telemedicine
  • Electronic health records
  • Clinical management skills

The two organizations will collaborate in the planning and design of the Comprehensive Transplant Centre that will serve as a regional hub, similar to UPMC’s successful hub-and-satellite model, extending services to other countries in Southeast Asia.

Under the agreement in Singapore, UPMC also will assist AAMG in expanding its current capacity to provide clinical services for patients, as well as clinical and translational research.
