Education

A commitment to education and developing the brightest minds has led UPMC to continually support its partnership with the EducationUniversity of Pittsburgh.

UPMC trains 1,200 residents and fellows each year and offers continuing education to help current providers — from physicians to nurses to other clinical staff — further develop leading-edge skills. For example, SimMedical, a world-renowned human simulation training program, was developed by researchers at UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh. UPMC also provides superb education for first responders in emergency services.

UPMC is shaping health care through innovation, research, and education, and is exporting this model overseas. Models in place include the four-year partnership (2006-2010) with the Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar.
