UPMC Stroke Treatment

High-Quality Stroke Care

At UPMC, we are committed to being a leading provider of high-quality medical and surgical stroke treatment. This quality is a result of a combination of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and emergency medicine specialists who are among the national leaders in stroke therapy and dedicated to providing excellent patient care. We work to reduce the impact of a stroke by increasing awareness through community health screenings, education events, and staff education.

UPMC Presbyterian is a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, which meets the highest standards required to provide complex stroke care by The Joint Commission. Commitment to Quality

At the UPMC Stroke Institute, high-quality patient care stands above all else. We offer our patients access to national leaders in neurology and neurosurgery who provide advanced or investigational stroke therapies not available at other stroke treatment centers.

These experts treat more than 1,500 patients annually and provide consultations for hundreds of others through the UPMC Stroke Telemedicine Program.

In addition, The UPMC Stroke Institute has three locations that have been awarded Primary Stroke Center Certification and one location that is a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.
