Workforce Development Initiative

In 2009, the UPMC Center for Inclusion launched the Workforce Development Initiative and the Partnership Council to collectively address community workforce needs throughout western Pennsylvania.

We share the goals of:

Focus on Health Career Awareness and Workforce Readiness

With our community partners, we're creating a pipeline of workforce-ready job seekers to meet the region's health care workforce needs. Our two areas of focus include:

Today, UPMC collaborates with more than 100 organizations throughout western Pennsylvania, including K-12 schools, community colleges, vocational-technical schools, community organizations, and government agencies. Through its collaboration with The Partnership Council, a consortium of Greater Pittsburgh organizations, UPMC displays its commitment to inclusion, dignity, and respect.
