Part of UPMC Senior Communities, Canterbury Place is a skilled nursing facility in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh. Sustained by a 150-year heritage of caring, Canterbury Place is a community where the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of older adults are anticipated and fulfilled. Its mission is carried out through a unique combination of compassionate service and expert medical care directed toward achieving optimal levels of independence and encouraging growth throughout life. Licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and certified by Medicare, Canterbury Place offers intermediate-level and skilled care. The unit is staffed by licensed professionals, including registered nurses; physical, speech, and occupational therapists; and a geriatric certified registered nurse practitioner. A UPMC geriatrician is on call 24 hours each day. Residents participate in therapeutic recreational programs on a daily basis.

Before your interview
- If you have questions or need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, contact our Human Resources Department at 412-784-5027 or nurse recruiter.
- On the day of your interview, free parking is available in our garage located off of Fisk Street. Enter the garage and press the white button on the security box. When asked, state your name and the reason for your visit, and the gate will be lifted for you to park. Proceed to the door at the back of the garage and again press the white button; then identify yourself and the reason for your visit. Enter and take the elevator to the ground floor and turn right. Tell the receptionist at the front desk that you are here to see the Human Resource consultant.
- Your interview will include meeting with the Human Resources consultant as well as the director of nursing.
- You also will tour the facility and the unit to learn more about the position in which you are interested.
After accepting an offer
- You will be scheduled for orientation based on your position.
