Description

UPMC St. Margaret is a Magnet™ designated hospital. Granted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Magnet status is considered to be the ultimate measure of quality care for hospital patients and the highest recognition of nursing excellence.

UPMC St. Margaret is an acute care, community and teaching hospital serving residents from Pittsburgh's northern and eastern suburbs, and Alle-Kiski Valley. This facility continues to build on its strengths: training family medicine physicians and providing specialized care in arthritis, orthopaedics, bariatrics, and geriatrics. Opportunities also are available in rehabilitation, critical care, emergency medicine, telemetry, medical-surgical, and surgical services. UPMC St. Margaret became the first community hospital in the region to use advanced electronic health record technology to deliver patient care.

Also located on the hospital campus near Aspinwall, are two medical office buildings with capacity for more than 100 physicians, as well as housing cardiac rehabilitation and a state-of-the-art sports medicine center. Other facilities include three neighborhood family health centers, a medical center offering primary care, diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation services, and Harmar Outpatient Surgery Center, along with the UPMC St. Margaret RN and LPN schools of nursing.
