Meet the surgical oncology experts from the UPMC Center for Advanced Robotics Training (CART).

 

Amer H. Zureikat, MD

Dr. Zureikat is chief of GI surgical oncology and co-director of the UPMC Pancreatic Cancer Center. He is highly experienced in robotic pancreatic surgery, and has contributed a variety of publications on the safety, feasibility, and outcomes of this approach. 

He received his medical education at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland, and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago. His fellowship training in surgical oncology took place at the University of Pittsburgh where he focused on pancreas surgery and minimally invasive surgical oncology.

Dr. Zureikat's research interests are focused on how the design and implementation of quality metrics, protocols, and curriculum for robotic surgery can improve cancer care and outcomes.
