Charles E. Bogosta
Mr. Bogosta is executive vice president of UPMC and president of UPMC's International and Commercial Services Division for which he oversees international development efforts, including the creation of a new biomedical research center in Sicily, a leading transplant hospital in Palermo, Italy, and cancer treatment centers in Ireland and a new hospital in Cyprus. He is spearheading efforts to create and manage innovative, for-profit businesses that leverage UPMC's medical and technological expertise.
Mr. Bogosta is also executive vice president of UPMC Cancer Centers, part of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. In this role, Mr. Bogosta is responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial activities of all cancer-related clinical and research activity. |

Simona Abbro Ms. Abbro is director of UPMC International Marketing Communications. Stationed at UPMC 's Rome office, she is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing internal and external communication strategies throughout the European Union and other international regions in order to establish and maintain a strong, positive brand identity for UPMC. Ms. Abbro also oversees the marketing communications efforts in the local countries where UPMC operates. |

Stephen Boochever Mr. Boochever is executive vice president for business development of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division. He oversees UPMC’s evaluation and management of investments in early and mid-stage companies, strategic partnerships with industry, and commercialization of emerging technologies. To date, UPMC has invested over $100M in portfolio companies, and UPMC and its technology partners (including IBM, GE, Alcatel-Lucent, and Cerner) have committed over $150M to develop and market new technologies. |

Kathryn Devine Ms. Devine is vice president of Human Resources, International Services, UPMC. She is responsible for developing human resources and expatriate programs to meet the strategic and operational needs of expanding UPMC international facilities and programs. Ms. Devine has more than 20 years of experience in human resources, including 10 years in international activities. |

Bruno Gridelli, MD Dr. Gridelli is the medical and scientific director of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division and the medical scientific director of ISMETT, a transplant hospital in Palermo, Italy. Under his direction ISMETT has significantly increased liver transplant activity and started new clinical programs, such as heart, lung, and pancreas transplantation. The lung transplant program in Palermo is the only one south of Rome. The number of transplants performed at ISMETT has more than tripled under Dr. Gridelli’s direction. ISMETT also is entering the field of regenerative medicine and cell transplantation. |

Loretta L. Hanwell Ms. Hanwell is the vice president for administration of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division (ICSD) and UPMC Cancer Centers. She leads a team for development and implementation of international initiatives in several countries. Ms. Hanwell has extensive clinical experience in hospital administration and recently was responsible for project management efforts for UPMC Cancer Centers, including the planning, design, and organizational startup of more than 12 free-standing cancer centers. She has worked closely with joint venture partners in formulating strategic and operational plans, physician referral programs, and outreach initiatives. |

John Kuzmishin Mr. Kuzmishin is senior vice president and chief financial officer of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division. He is responsible for managing the financial operations of the division and is a vital resource in operational as well as business development activities. Mr. Kuzmishin oversees and provides management for domestic and international financial resources and their support of clinical operations. Before joining UPMC, Mr. Kuzmishin worked as a health care investment banker, most recently at Robert W. Baird & Co. |

Kathy Lokay
Ms. Lokay is senior vice president for commercial oncology services of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division. She is responsible for developing, commercializing, and managing oncology products and services for broader market distribution, including Pathways, D3 Radiation Planning, and the Oncology Information System. Before joining UPMC, Ms. Lokay was a senior vice president at US Oncology where she managed several divisions including their electronic health record company and payer-facing pathways business. She also provided operational management to their network of managed practices in radiation, medical oncology, managed care, and clinical research. |

Kathleen A. McGinn Ms. McGinn is vice president of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division (ICSD) and oversees its strategic partnership and commercialization group. Her group’s responsibilities include coordinating and managing the analysis of ICSD’s investments and international clinical expansion initiatives, providing due diligence, structuring, and financial analysis. Before joining UPMC, Ms. McGinn worked as a health care investment banker, most recently at Morgan Stanley. |

Donna L. McCormick Ms. McCormick is the chief information officer for UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division. Stationed in London, Ms. McCormick is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing information system services in support of all international sites and activities. Prior to this position, Ms. McCormick was vice president of Enterprise Hospital Systems within the UPMC Corporate Information Services Division. |

Dr. Shapiro’s primary focus is research activity, and he assists with physician recruitment, policy development, and providing the important linkages between UPMC’s international locations and key departments within UPMC’s Physician Services Division. |

Katie Taylor Katie Taylor is vice president for international business development of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division. Based in Paris, Ms. Taylor plays a key role in shaping and implementing UPMC’s overall international business development strategy. Before joining UPMC, Ms. Taylor worked for General Electric Co. for nearly 20 years in a wide variety of businesses, including its health care, transportation, and mortgage units. |

John Williams, MD
Dr. Williams is associate medical and scientific director of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division. He works closely on clinical and scientific activity for all international locations. Dr. Williams focuses on physician recruitment, policy development, and providing the important linkages between our international locations and key departments within the Physician Services Division. For the past 11 years, Dr. Williams has been actively involved in providing support to UPMC operations at ISMETT. He also was instrumental in the development of the WISER Simulation Center at ISMETT. |

Joel P. Yuhas, FACHE
Mr. Yuhas is senior vice president of International Operations and serves as the president and chief executive officer of Beacon Hospital, a private, 183-bed facility in Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Yuhas, who joined UPMC in 2007, is based in Ireland and oversees the operations of UPMC Cancer Centers in Ireland and the U.K. He previously served as president of UPMC Horizon and interim president of UPMC Northwest, supervising three of UPMC’s 20 hospitals. |

Professor John G. Armstrong, MD, FRCPI, DABR, FFRRCSI Dr. Armstrong is medical director for UPMC Ireland, a joint venture between UPMC and Eurocare, with cancer centers in Waterford and Dublin. He has been intimately involved in the rollout of new procedures involving high-tech radiation therapy procedures such as IMRT, and stereotactic radiosurgery. Dr. Armstrong is chairman of the Irish Cancer Society and one of the leading radiation oncologists in Europe. He trained in the United States at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he directed the lung cancer radiation research program. He wrote the first U.S. publication about the use of 3-D radiation for lung cancer. He is currently director of research at St. Lukes Hospital, the largest cancer facility in Ireland.

Michael Costelloe
Mr. Costelloe is managing director for UPMC U.K. and Ireland. He oversees government relations, contracting, and legal affairs for UPMC’s growing investments in the development of hospitals and cancer centers in both countries. Mr. Costelloe previously was the president and chief executive officer of Beacon Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, which has been managed by UPMC since February 2008. Before assuming his management role in Ireland in 2005, he was director general of UPMC’s well-regarded transplantation hospital in Palermo, Italy. Mr. Costelloe has extensive experience in the creation, implementation, and management of public-private partnerships in health care. |

Alan Hodgdon, MD Dr. Hodgdon is executive medical director of the HMC/UPMC Emergency Enhancement Project with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Doha, Qatar. He is an emergency physician with extensive overseas experience and serves on the faculty as clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. |

Walt Stoy, PhD, EMT-P, CCEMTP Dr. Stoy is executive administrative director of the HMC/UPMC Emergency Medicine Enhancement Project with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Doha, Qatar. Under his direction, UPMC physicians, surgeons, paramedics, and nurses provide hands-on training in emergency medicine and work side-by-side with their local counterparts to evaluate, improve, and achieve world-class emergency care at three HMC hospitals and the Emergency Medical Services. The HMC/UPMC partnership also created Qatar’s first Trauma Service at Hamad General Hospital. The Trauma Service is part of a broader vision to establish a Level 1 Trauma Center at HMC. |

Ugo Palazzo, MD Dr. Palazzo is chief of staff and deputy medical officer of ISMETT in Palermo, Italy. Dr. Palazzo began his work at ISMETT in 1999 as the associate medical director and director of both the Liver Unit and Outpatient Clinic. He also has served as director of the International Patients Service Department. Before joining ISMETT, Dr. Palazzo was director of a unit dedicated to patients on a waiting list for liver transplants at Vincenzo Cervello Hospital. |

Laura Raimondo Ms. Raimondo is vice president of UPMC International Services and managing director of UPMC Italy. Stationed in Rome, Ms. Raimondo ensures management of and services to ISMETT and also manages coordination and development of international activities and investments of UPMC in Europe and the Middle East. Ms. Raimondo was responsible for the set-up and launch of the Ri.MED Foundation in Italy. |
