Neonatal Follow-up Clinic

The Neonatal Follow-up Clinic cares for graduates of the NICU who require apnea monitoring at discharge and for graduates who are at high risk for developmental concerns. Infants born weighing less than 1500 grams or who were born at less than 30 weeks gestational age are automatically enrolled in the Developmental Clinic.

Neonates who develop neurological concerns, lung disease, or who have been exposed to drugs prenatally also receive developmental assessments.

The Apnea Clinic assists primary care physicians in supervising the use of apnea monitors by reviewing the monitor downloads and determining when monitoring is no longer necessary.

Any infant born at Magee whose primary care physician wishes to refer to the Apnea Clinic or the Developmental Follow-up Clinic for concerns may call 412-641-4178.

The Clinic is staffed by neonatologists, a registered nurse, a developmental specialist, and a neonatal psychologist.
