President, Magee-Womens, UPMC Hamot and Vice President of Ambulatory and Women's Services, UPMC Hamot

In October 2009, Debbie A. Burbules was named president of UPMC Hamot Women's Hospital, now known as Magee-Womens, UPMC Hamot. She also serves as vice president of Ambulatory and Women’s Services.

As president, Ms. Burbules works on integrating the hospital's physicians and employees, as well as providing her expertise in women's services to ensure that Magee--Womens, UPMC Hamot delivers the highest level of care for women and their families in this community. She also oversees outpatient services.

Ms. Burbules joined Hamot in 1979 as a registered nurse, working in the cardiac stepdown and dialysis units. She has also held director positions at Great Lakes Home Healthcare and Hospice. In addition, Ms. Burbules assisted in the development and direction of the palliative care program and outpatient infusion services.

Ms. Burbules received a master's degree in public administration from Gannon University. She also holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Villa Maria College.

In 2008, Ms. Burbules was recognized by the Mercy Center for Women as one of 12 women in the Erie region who was "Making History." She also received the Girl Scouts of NWPA 2010 Woman of Distinction Award. She is chair of the board of directors for The Regional Cancer Center and a board member of LifeWorks Erie, ATHENA Powerlink, and MedCare. She also serves as president of the Great Lakes Home Healthcare Services Board of Directors.
