Thomas A. Tupitza is president of the Erie-based law firm of Knox McLaughlin Gornall & Sennett, P.C., where he advises clients in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, including health care providers and educational institutions, on finance, real estate, and governance matters. A past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Bond Lawyers, he is active in several other professional organizations, including the American Law Institute.

President, UPMC Hamot

V. James Fiorenzo serves as president at UPMC Hamot. Prior to becoming president, Mr. Fiorenzo served as the chief operating officer. He has also served as the senior vice president of Strategic and Support Services, president of Regional Health Services, president of Great Lakes Home Healthcare Services, Bayside Pharmacy and Physician Supply, and Associate Director of Pharmacy and Drug Information Services.

A board-certified surgeon and medical director of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care​ at UPMC Hamot, Gregory K. Beard, DO, completed a fellowship in trauma/surgical critical care at UPMC Presbyterian. He earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed a surgical residency at Kennedy Memorial Hospital. Dr. Beard is part of the surgical and trauma team at Great Lakes Surgical Specialists.​

Stephen M. Danch was appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of Hamot Medical Center (now UPMC Hamot) in 1989. As chief financial officer, he is responsible for developing, interpreting, coordinating, and administering policies on finance and related issues in support of the corporation's goals and objectives.

Richard W. Long, MD, is senior vice president and chief medical officer at UPMC Hamot. From 2006 until November 2008, he served as co-chief executive officer and chief medical officer at the Regional Cancer Center in Erie, PA.

President, UPMC Northwest and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, UPMC Hamot

David P. Gibbons, MHA, RN holds a dual leadership role as the president of UPMC Northwest, and continues as UPMC Hamot’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. Mr. Gibbons was named president of UPMC Northwest in July of 2014, and joined UPMC Hamot in August of 2012.  As president of UPMC Northwest, he has oversight of service lines including business and physician relationships. As COO of UPMC Hamot, he manages the majority of UPMC Hamot’s service lines and cultivates business relationships in the community.

James E. Donnelly joined Hamot Medical Center (now UPMC Hamot) in 1998 and currently serves as both the chief nursing officer and chief quality officer. In this capacity, he has full responsibilities for nursing services throughout UPMC Hamot, as well as oversight of the Emergency Department.

Charles "Boo" Hagerty is the chief development officer of the Hamot Health Foundation. Mr. Hagerty first joined UPMC Hamot in 2001 as the vice president of marketing and corporate communications. He transitioned to vice president of strategic resources in 2009 before being named vice president of northern tier markets for UPMC Health Plan in 2012.
