Eligibility and Curriculum for the Emergency Medical Residency

Eligibility

UPMC Hamot selects six emergency medical residents per year on the basis of academic performance, interviews, and recommendations.

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications to be eligible for an ACGME accredited program: 

• Graduated from a medical school in the U.S. or Canada accredited by the LCME
• Graduated from a college of osteopathic medicine in the U.S. accredited by the AOA
• Graduated from a medical school outside the U.S. or Canada and either holds a valid ECFMG certificate or has completed 5th Pathway Program
