Eligibility and Curriculum for the UPMC Hamot Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program

Eligibility

UPMC Hamot selects three Orthopaedic Surgery Residents per year on the basis of academic performance, recommendations, and interviews.

Applicants must be graduates of a:

  • U.S. or Canadian LCME medical school.
  • U.S. college of osteopathic medicine accredited by the AOA.
  • Medical school outside Canada or the U.S. provided the candidate has received a currently valid certificate from the ECFMG or has a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. licensing jurisdiction.
  • Medical school outside the U.S. provided that the candidate has completed a fifth pathway program provided by an LCME accredited medical school.
