The WarmLine: Peer Mental Health Hotline

UPMC Content 3

The WarmLine is a free, confidential phone service you can call to speak one-on-one with a certified peer specialist.

It's not a crisis line. If you need to speak with a crisis counselor, call 814-456-2014 or 1-800-300-9558.

Why Call WarmLine?

Call 1-877-550-4007 when you need a safe place to:

  • Discuss problems.
  • Talk about your day.
  • Ask questions about recovery and coping with a serious mental illness.

What is a Certified Mental Health Peer Specialist?

A certified peer specialist is someone recovering from a mental health diagnosis but has specialized training to:

  • Guide and support others who are going through similar mental health issues.
  • Actively listen to you.
  • Empathize with your concerns.
  • Empower you to choose your path to wellness and recovery.

Peer specialists have “been there before,” and understand the struggles you're facing.

They can help you figure out options to your problems by brainstorming with you. They won’t tell you what to do but will guide you as you make your own decisions.

The WarmLine is a safe place to discuss your recovery journey. Call 1-877-550-4007 to talk to a certified peer specialist, Tuesday-Saturday from noon to 7:30 p.m.
