UPMC Hamot, through a partnership with the UPMC Movement Disorders and Epilepsy Surgery Program, now offers advanced treatment for movement disorders including Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and essential tremors, as well as surgery for adult epilepsy.

About Our Program

A mutlidisciplinary team specializing in medical and surgical treatment of epilepsy and movement disorders provides evaluation and treatment locally. These experts include fellowship-trained neurolgic experts.

As part of the team, R. Mark Richardson, MD, PhD, FAANS, director of Epilepsy and Movement Disorders Surgery at UPMC Presbyterian, offers his services to patients at UPMC Hamot, enabling those with epilepsy and movement disorders in the Erie region to remain close to home while receiving treatment. Dr. Richardson specializes in epilepsy surgery and treatment of movement disorders through deep brain stimulation.
